F. Scott Fitzgerald is No Picnic Either…

This Guardian article is even more depressing than the Graham Greene one from yesterday. It’s a drunken parade of sadness and you’re all invited to check it out. And when you’re done, thank Bookslut.

I doubt that Charles Bukowski would care about anyone trying to save his LA home from destruction, but this article on Bukowski in LA is a rambling mess that ends up doing great justice for the old, drunk jerk. And thanks to Return of the Reluctant for the heads up.

Another person tries to shut up the Chicken Littles who claim that the literary sky is falling. Booksquare gives an in-depth debunking of many silly claims by the alarmists and once again shows that contrary to popular belief, people may actually still be reading books.

And finally, The Syntax of Things has led me to this highschooler and her grandmother who refuse to return a book they feel is too raunchy to be allowed around… well, I guess anyone. And as Syntax says, the best part is when the grandmother refers to her “mess” of children.
